Overnight Road Closures – A11

A11 northbound between Attleborough and Thickthorn interchanges: emergency resurfacing works

Kier will be undertaking road repair works at the above location, on behalf of Highways England. These emergency works are occurring due to recent inclement weather resulting in a rapid deterioration of the road surface. Whilst in the area, we will also take the opportunity to perform drainage repairs.

They plan to complete the work over 10 nights, from Monday 12 March, with working hours of 8pm until 6am, weather permitting. Works will take place on weeknights only and will finish 6am on Saturday 24 March.

Works overview

Starting Monday 12 March, there will be a single lane closure of the A11 northbound between Spooner Row and Tuttles Lane interchanges, lasting two nights.

Starting Monday 12 March, there will be a closure of the A11 north bound entry slip road at Besthorpe interchange lasting six nights.

Starting Wednesday 14 March, there will be a full northbound closure of the A11 northbound between Spooner Row and Tuttles Lane interchanges, lasting seven nights.

Starting Friday 22 March, there will be a full northbound closure of the A11 northbound between Tuttles Lane and Thickthorn interchanges, lasting one night.

They advise motorists to allow extra time to complete their journey whilst using the diversion route. They encourage drivers to stick to speed limits and follow appropriate signage.

Diversion Route

Throughout all the closures listed above traffic will be diverted along the B1172, through Wymondham and Hethersett, and instructed to re-join the A11 at Thickthorn interchange. This diversion route will be clearly signed.

Kier have carefully planned these works to take place during weekday off peak hours, when traffic flows are at their lightest. They apologise for the local inconvenience these works may cause and thank you for your patience whilst they carry out strategic maintenance to the road network.
