Rural Crime Update: 28th July 2017

Welcome to this weeks rural crime newsletter. Below there is a summary of some the incidents across Norfolk.  We would like to thank you for all your calls to Norfolk Constabulary; every piece of information, no matter how small helps us make Norfolk a safer county. This weeks crimes of note;

Stack fire in Narborough

Diesel from a business premises in Bungay

Hare Coursing in South Acre

Ifor Williams and John Deere ride on lawn mower stolen from Bircham

Farm in Hillington broken into- Green Honda TRX 500 FM (without keys) , a rack of riding saddles and a large black Castle Garden ride on mower stolen.

Burglary at an agricultural business in Felthorpe –  Police arrested 2 males on scene stealing gas cylinders.

Lead roofing stolen from British Legion Club in Norwich

Ram Raids

North Norfolk has suffered 2 Ram Raids at petrol stations within the previous 11 days;

in Wells on Monday 17th July and Burnham Deepdale on Monday 24th July

The modus operandi is to use a teleporter to remove the cash machine from outside the premises and then load onto a 4x 4 vehicle.

Anyone who has any information should contact DC Emma Cross at Norfolk Constabulary by calling 101.

Should you be driving on the roads during the wee small hours and you see a transporter type vehicle away from usual farm loactions please call in on 101 or 999 if you consider an emergency.

It is not normal to see one of these type vehicles travelling on the road at 2,3,4 am in the morning.

Rural Crime/ANPR team outcomes from 26th June to 25th July 2017

22 arrests and 36 vehicles seized.

Highlights include;

2 people arrested for a dwelling burglary series in the Downham area- persons found in possession of batteries, a strimmer and stolen quad bike.

A stolen Landrover from Cambs recovered

Ifor Williams trailer seized suspected stolen.

A Timberwolf chipper seized-suspected stolen,
