Rural Crime

Green Honda TRX Quad from SHIPDHAM

VW Tourag Index LR15AXB( Keys left in car) East RAYNHAM

5 High value cycles stolen from locked sheds in Wells-next-the Sea. Also a series of vehicles and sheds broken into in the same area.

60K worth of Garage equipment taken from a business premises in Snetterton

A lawn mower, 2 x strimmers, 2 x hedgecutters and 2 x chainsaws taken from outbuilding in Wretham

3 sets of tractor keys and a pressure washer taken from South Creake occupants were in a black Pick up truck

Extra vigilance required for Land Rover Defender owners

Please can we advise you that Land Rover Defenders are now a valuable commodity and thus a target for thieves. Since the cease in their production, values have rocketed.

Nationally theft of these vehicles has risen. This week has seen a local suspicious activity report where we believe that the offenders were looking to steal the occupants Defender.

Rogue Trading

We are continuing to take reports of unknown persons offering to sell Generators and power tools from vans at your doorstep, These sellers will not offer any consumer protection, so can we advise you to ‘Say No’ and report these incidents to the Police and trading Standards.

Royal Norfolk Show- 28th and 29th June

If you want to see any of the team face to face, the majority of us will be there for the Royal Norfolk Show where we are having an Emergency Services Village alongside Norfolk Fire & Rescue, Coastguard, East Anglia Air Ambulance and the Ambulance Service. We are sited opposite the Dereham Gate.

DC Andy Brown will also be available and will be sited in the NFU stand should you wish to speak with him.

Freshwater Fishing

If like me you are a fisherman, you will be looking forward to June 16th, which indicates open season on the rivers.

Between March 15th and June 16th all Broad waters, rivers and canals have a close season.

Fishing licenses are required for every angler aged 12 years old and over.

When you need a licence

You need a rod fishing licence to fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish, smelt or eel with a rod and line in:

  • England (except the River Tweed)
  • Wales
  • the Border Esk region of Scotland

You can be fined up to £2,500 for fishing without a rod fishing licence.

Licences for children aged between 12 and 16 are free.
